AEW Fight For The Fallen – 15th July 2020 Result And Review

Preview: After the two-week “FYTER FEST” extravaganza, All Elite Wrestling comes back with our second annual “FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN” event!

Match 1: Cody (with Arn Anderson) vs. Sonny Kiss – AEW TNT Championship Match.

Bell ring, with two weeks off to rest from that hellacious fight with Jake Hager where Cody retained his TNT Championship, Cody steps into the ring this week to answer another Open Challenge. The challenger this time: “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss. Cody won the match after delivering the Cross Rhodes.

Winner: Cody.

Match 2: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. Lucha Brothers (Pentagón Jr. and Rey Fénix).

Bell rings, One thing that we can say about FTR before they even came onto the tag team picture in AEW, they’ve never made it a secret how they feel about the state of the tag team in wrestling today. FTR believes their method of calling out competing is the right way to engage in tag team wrestling today. Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix have taken those words of FTR’s verbal attacks before, so the harsh words expressed by Dax and Cash are nothing new to The Lucha Bros. The FTR picked up the well-deserved win.

Winner: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood).

In the ring, Chris Jericho talks about how he won the rating war last week. Jericho also talked about how he won his match last week against Orange Cassidy and said that he will never get a rematch. Hearing this, Cassidy comes out at the entrance ramp as orange juice gets pour from on the top of the ring on Jericho.

Match 3: The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Marko Stunt) – Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Bell rings, Now we have not seen Omega and The Young Bucks compete as a trio since The Homecoming edition of “DYNAMITE” on New Year’s Day against Pentagon, Fenix, and PAC in the past, with being said that being the thought, one can’t help but wonder where Hangman Page sits watching his championship partner compete with other partners. As they face The Jurassic Express, three men who have become very popular in All Elite Wrestling, they are there to support one another in their fights. Omega picked the win by pinning Stunt.

Winner: The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson).

Match 4: The Nightmare Sisters (Allie and Brandi Rhodes) (with Dustin Rhodes) vs. Local Competitors.

Bell rings, With a quick win The Nightmare Sisters won the impressive match.

Winner: The Nightmare Sisters (Allie and Brandi Rhodes).

In the ring, Nyla Rose introduces Vickie Guerrero as her manager.

Match 5: Jon Moxley vs. Brian Cage (with Taz) – AEW World Championship Match.

Bell ring, as this match was originally set for “FYTER FEST: NIGHT 2”, circumstances of health forced this match to be moved to this week. Last week Taz gave the iconic FTW Title to “The Machine” Brian Cage. Meanwhile, Moxley has been in the ring with many great athletes in the past, including legends and hall of famers. Moxley defended his title first at “DOUBLE OR NOTHING” against Mr. Brodie Lee. The Exalted One of The Dark Order is certainly a monster inside that ring, but Brian Cage is an animal of a different sort given his superhuman strength and freakish power. As Moxley held Cage in submission, Taz threw in the towel and stopped the match. After the match, Cage attacked Moxley with the FTW title. Seeing this, Darby Allin comes out to assist Moxley.

Winner: Jon Moxley.
