Impact Wrestling: Slammiversary 2020 PPV – 18th July 2020 Results And Review

Preview: A new World Champion will be crowned when Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin, Trey and a mystery opponent collide in a Four-Way Elimination Match. On a night shrouded in mystery, who will be revealed as the fourth competitor and who will leave Slammiversary with the vacant World Title around their waist?

Match 1: The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns.

Bell rings, it announced on IMPACT Wrestling’s social media that, Dez and Wentz of the Rascalz have issued an open challenge for Slammiversary. It was answered by The Motor City Machine Guns and they won the match with ease.

Winner: The Motor City Machine Guns.

Match 2: Moose vs. Tommy Dreamer – Old School Rules Match, for the (Unsanctioned) TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Bell rings, the self-proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose will defend his title against hardcore legend Tommy Dreamer in an Old School Rules. This match was set after Dreamer’s emotional speech recently on IMPACT! He also called Moose a waste of talent in the industry. Moose did retain his title with a moon sault.

Winner: Moose.

Match 3: Alisha Edwards vs. Havok vs. Kiera Hogan vs. Kimber Lee vs. Kylie Rae vs. Nevaeh vs. Madison Rayne vs. Rosemary vs. Susie vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Taya Valkyrie – Gauntlet for the Gold Match, to determine the #1 contender for the Impact Knockouts Championship.

Bell rings, IMPACT’s Knockouts Division will be in action at Slammiversary in a Gauntlet match to determine the #1 contender for the Impact Knockouts Championship. Taya Valkyrie, Kiera Hogan, Susie, Rosemary, Nevaeh, Tasha Steelz, Kylie Rae, Alisha, Havok, Kimber Lee, or Madison Rayne will participate in this bout. Kylie Rae won and she became the No 1. Contender for the Impact Knockouts Championship.

Winner: Kylie Rae.

Heath Slater made his IMPACT Wrestling debut where he taught a lesson to Rohit Raju and sets his eyes for the most prestigious title, IMPACT World Championship.

Match 4: Willie Mack vs. Chris Bey – Impact X Division Championship.

Bell rings, after Bey pinned the X-Division Champion Mack in six-man tag team action a few weeks ago, Bey has finally got an X-Division Title opportunity. Will Bey win his way to his first title since coming to IMPACT Wrestling. Bey won the match with a swinging neck breaker followed by a body splash.

Winner: Chris Bey. New Impact X Division Championship.

Backstage, IMPACT management has asked Heath Slater to leave the IMPACT building as he is still a free agent.

Match 5: The North (Ethan Page and Josh Alexander) vs. Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan – Impact Tag Team Championship Match.

Bell rings, the new team of Shamrock and Callihan fought with each other to take out The North a few weeks ago, they then challenge them for the Tag Team Championships at Slammiversary. The question here in everyone’s mind is that will Shamrock and Callihan coexist to dethrone the longest-reigning Tag Team Champions in IMPACT Wrestling history. The North’s retained their tag titles. After their win, the champions seem to be satisfied as they proved everyone wrong. Hearing them The Motor City Machine Guns comes out and made it clear that they will be coming for Impact Tag Team Championship this Tuesday on IMPACT Wrestling.

Winner: The North (Ethan Page and Josh Alexander).

Match 6: Jordynne Grace vs. Deonna Purrazzo – Impact Knockouts Championship.

Bell rings, since Purrazzo has arrived in IMPACT Wrestling and she has set her eye on one thing – the Knockouts Championship. This rivalry began when The Virtuosa attacked the reigning Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace. It looked as if Purrazzo was forcing Grace to put her Knockouts Title on the line which eventually happened. Purrazzo won the Impact Knockouts Championship with a double-cross armbar submission.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo. New Impact Knockouts Champion.

Match 7: Ace Austin vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Trey vs. TBD – Fatal Four-Way Match, for the vacant Impact World Championship.

Bell rings, a new Impact World Champion will be crowned at Slammiversary when Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin, Trey, and a mystery opponent will collide in a Four-Way Elimination Match, in a night of mystery, it will be interesting to see who will be the fourth competitor. The fourth mystery member was then revealed as former X-Division Champion Rich Swann who was injured and said that he will come from World Championship when he will return, as Swann comes out to the ring, Eric Young returns too and enters the match and makes it Five Way Match.

Edwards did win the title by pinning Austin, seeing this Fulton attacked him. The Good Brothers (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) comes out and saved Edwards.

Winner: Eddie Edwards. New Impact World Champion.

After the match, a promo was played showing that EC3 will be returning to IMPACT Wrestling.
