Following from a one-sentence statement from Impact Wrestling which was released today, where they said that they have terminated their relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her from Impact Wrestling World Championship. This ends her run with Impact Wrestling and also as the Impact Champion.
This leaves us with a lot of question between Impact Wrestling and Blanchard. She won the belt back in January at Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill PPV, there was a mid-level allegation of bullying against Blanchard from wrestlers all around the world. Despite all this, she did win the World Championship, during the coronavirus pandemic she was told if she doesn’t want to come to the tapings then it’s fine. She then chose not to show up and missed tapings for six weeks. As the Impact Wrestling management did have plans for her to be at the main event of Rebellion. which then became two weeks special event. Then there were plans to have her at the tapings from June which could lead up to Slammiversary PPV (READ/WATCH). However, Blanchard ended not showing up for that either. She was then asked to shoot some promo for the upcoming match leading up to the Five Way Match to which she did decline to that too.
As per our source, it was then said that she was asked to come and drop the belt in an episode to which she again declined so now Impact Wrestling has concluded that she will be stripped from her title. It’s a very rare situation in a company that someone who is a current world champion and they had been stripped from the belt in this way.
Now all this leads to a very big question leading into Slammiversary for the Five Way match where Tessa Blanchard was scheduled to defend her title against Ace Austin, Trey Miguel, Michael Elgin and Eddie Edwards.
