Preview: Seth Rollins to host Rey Mysterio’s retirement ceremony.

The show begins, ‘Monday Night Messiah’ Seth Rollins along with his disciples Buddy Murphy and Austin Theory makes their way out to the ring. Rollins talks about his action last week as announced that he will be facing Aleister Black tonight.

He then spoke about Rey Mysterio’s retirement later tonight as its a sacrifice for a better future of Raw. Rollins then continued to talk about Mysterio and played a video package of his career. Seeing this Black runs out to the ring and a beats Rollins.

Match 1: Seth Rollins vs. Aleister Black.

Bell rings, Rollins was seen dominating Black in and out of the ring. Black fought back got slammed to the ringside barricade. Later, in the ring, Black once again tried to fight back but got thrown out of the ring by Rollins, Seeing this Murphy and Theory approached to attacks him, Humberto Carrillo quickly ran towards the ring with a steel chair. Seeing this Rollins rolls out of the ring.

After the commercial, the match continues, with Carrillo on his ringside Black fought with confidence and brought the fight to Rollins. Then series of pinfall was seen by both men in the ring which ended in two counts. Rollins then quickly kicks Black on his face and followed by a falcon arrow as went for the pinfall but it ended on two counts. Rollins then delivers a frog splash to Black and also injured his ribs, as Rollins rolled out of the ring, Black delivered a moonsault to him.

After the commercial, both men were seen fighting in the ring, as Rollins as about to jump over Black, Black quickly delivered a flying knee kick to his face. As Black was about to kick Rollins on his face, Murphy and Theory tried to enter the ring, seeing them Carrillo attacked them out of the ring. Black then quickly rolled Rollins backwards and pinned for him victory.

Winner: Aleister Black.

After the match, Rollins, Murphy and Theory attacked Black and Carrillo. Rollins then delivered Curb Stomp to them.

Shawn Michaels appeared via satellite and spoke about Edge vs. Randy Orton – The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever, where Michaels picked Edge to win this match.

Backstage, MVP and Lana was seen in an argument, where Lana slaps MVP.

Apollo Crews makes his way out to the ring and he’s coming out as the new United States Champion which he won last week. Crews then spoke about how the week has been as many fans appreciated him for winning the title.

Without wasting any time, Crews chooses to face Kevin Owens by saying he would love to face a lot of stars, but tonight he would like to defend his title against Owens.

Match 2: United States Champion Apollo Crews vs. Kevin Owens.

Bell rings, both men bought the fight, where Owens threw Crews out of the ring, Owens then delivers a Swanton Bomb and throws Crews in the ring. In the ring, once again Owens delivered a Swanton Bomb and goes for the pin but it ended in two counts.

Both men then get up on their feet, Owens then accidentally kicks Crews on the midsection. Owens backed up and gave Crews time to recover. Crews stood up and started to punch Owens.

After the commercial, both men were fighting in the ring where Owens delivered a superkick and followed by a body splash, he then tried to pin but Crews kicked out at two counts. As Owens tried to deliver a pop-up powerbomb, Crews avoids it and delivers a superkick followed by a standing moon sault and tried to pin but Owens kicked out at two counts.

Owen then once again delivers a superkick and a body splash from the top ropes and tried to pin Crews, seeing this Angel Garza and Andrade Cien runs out to the ring and breaks the count.

Winner: No Winner due to outside interference.

Match 3: United States Champion Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens vs. Angel Garza and Andrade Cien.

Considering the fact the Garza injured Owens’ leg last week on Raw.

Bell rings, both the team fought with each other by frequently tagging each other. Garza then punches Owens on his face and cuts it open. Owens hen tags Crews, seeing this Garza tags Andrade and runs to attacks Owens’ legs once again. In the ring, Crews quickly delivers a Crews Bomb to Andrade and pins him for victory.

Winner: United States Champion Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens.

Match 4: Nikki Cross vs. Billie Kay (The IIconics ).

Bell rings, both women’s lock horns in the centre of the ring, Kay gains control over Cross and kicked her on her face. Kay then slammed Cross to the ring and tried to pin but it ended in two counts.

Kay then held Cross in a cross face submission and delivered a vicious backbreaker followed by running between the ropes elbow drop and tried to pin but it ended in two counts once again. As Kay was arguing with the referee, Cross took advantage of it and attacked Kay.

Cross then delivered a body splash from the top of the ropes, Kay moves out, and attacks Cross and pins her for victory.

Winner: Billie Kay (The IIconics ).

Rey Mysterio joined via satellite, where he spoke about his return is still not known as the eye injury in deep. He was then asked about his retirement, to which Mysterio said that he doesn’t know when the injury will heal and will still wait to take a call on his retirement. As Mysterio was talking his son Dominic joined him. Mysterio then talks about seeking revenge from Seth Rollins and walks away.

Nia Jax makes her way out to the ring, she then grabs the microphone and talks about how Asuka was handed the Raw Women’s Championship due to Becky Lynch announcing her pregnancy. Jax then vowed to win the title at WWE Backlash.

A video package was played where it was showing that R-Truth has won the 24 7 Championship back earlier tonight.

Match 5: Nia Jax vs. Kairi Sane.

Bell rings, Jax was seen dominating Sane at the start of the match. Sane then quickly held Jax in a sleeper hold, Jax then quickly gained control of the match but became a victim of body splashes from Sane.

Later, Jax slams Sane’s face to the ring apron and slam her to the steel steps. Jax then delivers a vicious leg drops to Sane and pins her for victory.

Winner: Nia Jax.

After the match, Asuka comes running into the ring, seeing her Jax rolls out of the ring.

Backstage from an unknown location, Randy Orton spoke on his upcoming match against Edge at WWE Backlash. Orton then specifically spoke on what Edge said last week, that Orton has no passion for the business and only wrestled for the paychecks. Orton replied to this by saying that yes Edge is right, and it will be his honour to end Edge’s storybook career with an RKO.

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair spoke about defending her title against at WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House, but tonight she will be facing another champion who hold impressive records in the business, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka.

Match 6: NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Raw Women’s Champion Asuka – Champion vs. Champion Match.

Bell rings, both women lock horns at the centre of the ring, Flair then gains control over Asuka and slammed her face to the ring’s turnbuckle twice and delivered few chest chops. As Asuka gained momentum, Flair attacked Asuka left knee.

After the commercial, Flair was still seen attacking Asuka’s left knee, Asuka rolled Flair backwards and tried to pin her but it ended in two counts. Asuka then fought back and delivered a vicious high kick to Flair’s face.

Asuka then delivered a shining wizard kick to Flair and tried to pin her but it ended in two counts. As Asuka jump from the top of the ropes, Flair moves out of the way and tried to hold Asuka in a submission, Asuka avoids it and holds Flair in a cross armbar, Flair then quickly holds Asuka in a Boston crab submission. Asuka rolls out, to which Flair delivers a German suplex to her.

Asuka recovers and holds Flair in a cross armbar, Flair then picks up Asuka, while being in the cross armbar hold and slams Asuka to the ring and tried to pin her but it ended in two counts. As Asuka gets up, Flair kicks Asuka on her face and she falls out of the ring.

Just then Asuka’s music hits and Nia Jax comes out face painted like Asuka and runs over her. The referee stops the match.

Winner: No Winner.

Match 7: WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs MVP.

No 1 contender for the WWE Championship Bobby Lashley comes out to be at the ringside for MVP. Before the bell rings, Lana’s music hits and she too comes out and stand besides Lashley.

Bell rings, McIntyre quickly heads towards MVP and attacks him and delivers a massive chest chops, McIntyre then sets up for a Glasgow Kiss, seeing this MVP rolls out of the ring.

McIntyre followed him, Lashley then distracts him, seeing this MVP slams McIntyre’s face to the ring post. MVP then throws McIntyre in the ring and kicks him on his face. McIntyre quickly gains momentum and attacks MVP and jumps over him from the top of the ropes.

As McIntyre sets up for the Claymore, Lashley pulls MVP out of the ring. Seeing this McIntyre jumps over them from the ring. McIntyre then throws MVP in the ring and delivers a Claymore and pins him for victory.

Winner: WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

After the match, Lashley quickly holds McIntyre in a full nelson submission.
