WWE Raw – 8th June 2020 Result And Review

Preview: Edge to join Christian for “The Peep Show” this Monday on Raw

The show begins, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka kicks off Raw and makes her way out to the ring as she was scheduled to face Charlotte Flair. As Asuka was waiting for Flair, New SmackDown Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley and Sasha Banks make their way out to the ring. They spoke about how they defeated Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross to win the Tag Team titles last week on SmackDown, to which Asuka demanded them to fight her now and prove themselves.

Hearing this Flair comes out and tell Bayley and Banks to clear the ring as WWE Universe wants to see Flair vs. Asuka. Just then The IIconics come out, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce then talk about their match at Backlash is the most important match in WWE where they will win back their tag team titles. Flair then calls them garbage, hearing this they attack Flair and Asuka.

Match 1: Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) vs. Charlotte Flair and Asuka – Triple Treat Tag Team Match.

Bell rings, where Bayley and Bank dominate the match most of the times in the beginning, the momentum shifted when Asuka was tagged in. The IIconics then brought in the fight to Asuka, Flair then tags herself in and she tells Asuka to learn from her. Flair then attacks Kay, as Flair was about to deliver a moon sault, Asuka tags herself in and quickly holds Kay in an Asuka Lock and wins the match for her team.

Winner: Charlotte Flair and Asuka.

After the match, Flair delivers a flying elbow punch from the top of the ropes to Asuka and tells her that she has never beaten her.

‘The Monday Night Messiah’ Seth Rollins joins the announcing team to talk to Rey Mysterio via satellite. Mysterio then gives an update on his eye that the doctors told him that his eye is healing and he will be back soon. Seeing Rollins at the announcing team, Mysterio tells him that he will get his revenge soon.

Hearing this Rollins stops him and invites Mysterio and his son Dominic to Raw next week. Mysterio then tells him that he will be back on his own terms when the time is right so that the revenge will be sweet. As they were talking, Aleister Black jumps out of nowhere and attacks Rollins.

Match 2: Buddy Murphy and Austin Theory vs. Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black.

Bell rings, the team of Theory and Murphy dominates the match in the start. Black and Carrillo then gain the momentum, where Black hits Throey hits with a Black Mass and pin Theory fo victory.

Winner: Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black.

After the match, Seth Rollins delivers a Curb Stomp to Black..

Backstage, In an interview, Randy Orton said that there will be two guests on ‘The Peeps Show’ tonight.

In the ring, former World Champion Christain comes out to host ‘The Peeps Show’, he then calls out his best friend Edge and tells him that he is making a mistake stepping into his match at Backlash. Edge didn’t come here to listen this from his best friend, hearing this Edge stood on his feet fueled with angry. Christian sees Edge and tells him that he needs to step up his game to face Randy Orton this Sunday. Hearing this Orton appears on the titantron and said that Edge never lives up to his expectation and he will personally humiliate him.

Backstage, MVP was seen in an interview where he was talking about WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, R Truth appears seeking a place to hide, seeing him Bobby Lashley hold Truth in a full nelson submission.

In the ring, United States Champion Apollo Crews issues a challenge where Andrade, Angel Garza and Kevin Owens will face each other in a Triple Threat Match and the winner will face him at WWE Backlash. Hearing this Andrade and Angel Garza coms out where they were attacked by Kevin Owens.

Match 3: Andrade vs. Angel Garza vs. Kevin Owens – Triple Threat Match.

Bell rings, Andrade and Garza double teams up and beats down Owens in the ring, the game started to changed when Andrade and Garza got engaged to an argument with each other outside of the ring and accidentally hit their manager Zelina Vega.

Later, the action continued in the ring, where Owens delivered a Swanton Bomb to Garza and tried to pin him but it was saved by Andrade. Then all three wrestlers started to attack each other.

Andrade and Garza then got engaged in a fight out of the ring which allowed Owens to get some air as he was being attacked frequently in the ring. Owens then delivered a suicide dive to both Andrade and Garza and then throws Garza in the ring, Owens later delivers a Stunner to Garza and as he was about to pin him. Andrade enters and attacks Owens and steals the win.

Winner: Andrade.

Backstage, Charlotte Flair was seen in an interview where she was asked about losing her NXT Women’s Champion last night, where Flair then clarified that she was not pinned last night. She then continued by saying that she is done with NXT now and her focus is now set to win the Raw Women’s Championship. Asuka appears there, Charlotte asks her if she takes anything seriously, hearing this Asuka slaps her and leaves.

WWE Hall of Famer was seen in an interview via satellite, where he said that Edge will win The Greatest Match Ever this Sunday.

Backstage, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was seen with The Viking Raiders where he was motivating them for their match later with Bobby Lashley and MVP.

In the ring, as MVP was about to welcome his guest Bobby Lashley to the VIP Lounge, just then WWE Champion Drew McIntyre music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. McIntyre then tells MVP that he needs to stop backing up for Lashley and stop giving him advice. Hearing this Lashley appears in the ring, seeing this as an opportunity MVP tried to attacks McIntyre. McIntyre then quickly delivers a Glasgow Kiss to him. As Lashley was about to hit McIntyre, The Viking Raiders come out to assist McIntyre.

Match 4: Bobby Lashley and MVP vs. The Viking Raiders.

Bell rings, WWE Champions Drew McIntyre and The Street Profits sits at the ringside to watch the match closely. The Viking Raiders brought in the fight where they attacked MVP and dismantled him. The difference factor Lashley enters the ring and turns things around and this allowed MVP to get his confidence back.

MVP and Lashley frequently tagged each other and dominated their opponents. As the match continues, Lashley’s wife Lana was seen in an interview backstage where she seems to be happy to focus on herself and her career instead of going out with her husband during his matches.

In the ring, The Viking Raiders tried their best to fight back where they once again focused on MVP. Once when Lashley got the tag, he quickly held Erik in a full nelson submission hold and gets a win for his team.

Winner: Bobby Lashley and MVP.

After the match, Lashley then held Ivar in a full nelson submission, seeing this The Street Profits come to rescue him but were unable to release it. Then McIntyre enters and delivers a Claymore to Lashley.

Match 5: Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair.

Bell rings, New SmackDown Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley and Sasha Banks comes out to the ring to watch the match closely. Flair then without wasting any time attacks Asuka. Asuka then tried to fight back but fell short Flair kept on overpowering her all the time. Desperately to win Asuka kicks Flair on her leg and take control of the match, seeing an opportunity Flair slams Asuka to the ringside barricade.

The fight continues in the ring, Flair was just about to deliver a suplex, realising this Asuka rolled her for a pin but Flair kicked out. As the action continued in the ring, The IIconics comes out and attacks Bayley and Banks, not losing focus Flair attacks Asuka and was seen holding her in submissions.

Asuka then gained momentum with a German suplex and kicks Flair on her face, Flair then once again takes control by delivering a moon sault from the top of the ringside barricade. Series of pinfall was exchanged, as it looked like Flair’s Spear was not enough to put Asuka’s shoulder down for a pinfall. Asuka then tried to apply the Asuka lock but Flair kept rolling out of it. Asuka’s Backlash opponent Nia Jax head to the ring, seeing her Asuka attacks her and when she turns around, Flair kicks on her face and pins her to get the win.

Winner: Charlotte Flair.

After the match, Jax enters the ring and attacks Asuka with a Samoan Drop.
